Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI), which builds the H145 under licence from Airbus as the BK117-D3, has announced the signing of an order with New Zealand’s Salus Aviation for two BK117-D3s for delivery in August of this year and January 2027 – making them the launch -D3 customer in the Oceania region and just the second and third examples of the 43 BK117s ordered so far to be sold outside Japan.
The order follows on from the framework agreement (FA) the two companies signed in November. This covers not only sales but also maintenance for the BK117 series, which will see Salus also provide training service support to customers across the region.
