Chinese express carrier SF Airlines has launched a new route from Ezhou Huahu International (EHU) to Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
The first flight on the route, O3107, was operated with a Boeing 747-400 freighter and departed EHU on 1 April.
Parent company SF Express said in a LinkedIn post on 1 April that “the new route is built for scale and versatility: from high-volume express parcels and cross-border e-commerce shipments to oversized and heavyweight cargo”.
The company added: “This expansion strengthens SF’s ability to navigate complex international supply chains and deliver end-to-end air logistics solutions, meeting the growing demand from Chinese industries going global for faster, more reliable freight.”
Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX)-based SF Airlines launched its first cargo route in 2009 and its network now spans over 100 domestic and international locations.
On 8 March, the airline launched flights between EHU and East Midlands Airport (EMA) to build on its international network plans. The followed the start of charter flights to EMA in November last year.
Other new routes for the airline include Chongqing Jiangbei International (CKG) – Yangon International (RGN), and Zhuhai Jinwan (ZUH) – Indira Gandhi International (DEL) in Delhi, India.
EHU opened in 2022 and began cargo operations in November that year. SF Express developed the airport to serve as China’s first cargo-focused airport.
