Embraer will display the KC-390 Millennium and the A-29 Super Tucano at FIDAE 2026, Latin America’s main aerospace exhibition, scheduled for April 7-12 at Pudahuel Air Base in Santiago.
The appearance of the military transport aircraft comes as the company continues efforts to secure its first KC-390 order in the region, despite years of interest from several Latin American air forces.
Argentina, Chile and Colombia have all evaluated the aircraft at different stages, but none has placed an order. Argentina stands out in particular: its state-owned manufacturer FAdeA supplies components for the KC-390, yet that industrial involvement has not translated into a domestic acquisition.

While sales in Latin America have yet to materialize, the KC-390 has gained traction elsewhere. The aircraft has been selected by Portugal, Hungary, South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia and Uzbekistan, in addition to Brazil.
At FIDAE, Embraer is expected to emphasize the aircraft’s operational profile, which includes transport of troops and cargo, medical evacuation, aerial refueling and operations from unpaved runways — capabilities that align with requirements commonly seen across the region.
The A-29 Super Tucano, by contrast, already has an established footprint in Latin America. The turboprop is in service with multiple operators including Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay, typically in roles such as surveillance, light attack and pilot training.
Embraer will also use the event to present its defense and security portfolio to potential customers in a region that has yet to adopt its flagship military transport.
