Tecnam opened the AERO Friedrichshafen aviation trade show Wednesday with the launch of a new luxury aircraft and several product upgrades aimed at the flight training and executive transport markets.
The annual show in Germany began with the Italian light plane manufacturer introducing the P2012 VIP, a luxury edition of the Tecnam P2012 Traveller. The P2012 VIP sports a business-jet style interior with leather seats, and enhanced acoustic insulation.
Tecnam has been designing and building aircraft since the 1940s. In recent years the company has become increasingly well known for the light trainers that have become more popular with flight schools around the world. Tecnam encourages feedback from its customers to improve designs.
At AERO 2026, Tecnam showed the latest evolution of the P2010 MK3, a single-engine, four-place aircraft with an advanced Garmin software package, factory-installed air conditioning system, and brand-new interior.
“These refinements offer pilots and passengers the ultimate cross-country flying experience with maximum comfort and advanced situational awareness,” Tecnam said in a news release.
Another improvement unveiled is the P92 MKII, powered by a turbocharged Rotax 915iS.
According to the company, the new powerplant is an option for the high-wing aircraft. The 141 hp fuel-injected Rotax 915iS brings more power, increased high-altitude performance, and increased efficiency to the P92.
“Our 2026 lineup proves that Tecnam never stops listening to our customers,” said Walter Da Costa, Tecnam’s chief sales officer. “Whether an operator needs a luxurious twin-engine VIP transport, a highly capable family four-seater with brand-new air conditioning and Garmin avionics, or the most efficient flight training fleet on the market, we have the perfect, modern solution ready to fly.”
Special Delivery
Tecnam, which was started in 1948 by brothers Luigi and Giovanni Pascale, remains a family company. The “P” in the names of its aircraft stands for Pascale.
The family connection reached a new level during AERO 2026 with the unveiling of the P2008JC NG, and Tecnam CEO Paolo Pascale Langer giving the keys of the newly delivered aircraft to his daughter, Carolina Pascale Langer, accountable manager of the Tecnam Flight Academy in Capua, Italy.
“AERO Friedrichshafen is always a special place for Tecnam, but this year is truly exceptional,” said Pascale Langer. “We are introducing aircraft that redefine their respective categories, from the executive luxury of the P2012 VIP to the unmatched efficiency of our upgraded trainers. But on a personal level, handing the keys of our newest P2008JC NG to Carolina to serve the Tecnam Flight Academy is a profoundly proud moment. It represents our family’s enduring dedication to aviation, passing the torch to the next generation of aviators.”
