If you’re in range, get ATIS information ahead of time. When center transfers you to approach control, you’ll already have the current weather, and they won’t have to spend time asking if you have it.
3) Think ahead
Look at the approaches for your destination airport before you leave the ground. If you know what’s available, and what the weather is doing, you’ll be better prepared to brief and fly your approach.
