When it comes to theme park drone light shows, it’s actually not the big dawgs like Disney or Universal that are dominating the U.S. drone show game. Yes, Disney has some epic shows in its Paris and Hong Kong parks. But for summer 2026, it’s United Parks & Resorts (the parent company of SeaWorld and Busch Gardens) that wins for the best U.S. theme park drone shows.
Both SeaWorld and Busch Gardens have launched massive, state-of-the-art drone spectaculars at every single one of their U.S. theme parks, combining drones with massive soundtracks, fountains, and pyrotechnics.
If you want to see how elite fleets of 400 to 600 synchronized drones are pushing the boundaries of nighttime entertainment (for admission tickets that are far cheaper than Disney or Universal, no less, here is your definitive coast-to-coast guide to what’s flying right now.
The 2026 lineup of drone shows at the SeaWorld and Busch Garden parks nationwide

1. Ocean of Dreams — SeaWorld San Diego
- When: Nightly through August 9, 2026 (moving to weekends-only through September 7)
- What to expect: This 12-minute immersive spectacle transforms the San Diego night sky over Mission Bay into a massive, neon-lit underwater world. The 600-drone fleet paints crisp 3D animations of sea otters, sharks, dolphins, and a massive, majestic orca, all set to a soundtrack themed around ocean conservation.
2. SeaWorld Illuminight — SeaWorld San Antonio
- When: Nightly summer season
- What to Expect: This is the first time that the San Antonio location of SeaWorld has had a drone show. Its show serves as the park’s nightly finale, where the drones form sprawling, luminous 3D marine ecosystems in the sky, featuring animations like beluga whales and orcas.
3. Electric Ocean Drone Spectacular — SeaWorld Orlando
- The Fleet: Hundreds of synchronized drones
- When: Nightly summer season
- What to Expect: Orlando’s drones move to the soundtrack “Feeling Electric.” The synchronized aircraft create glowing sea creatures and rolling waves over the park’s expansive central lake. It serves as the immediate precursor to Ignite, the park’s signature 360-degree fireworks, fountains, and laser finale.

4. Wild Skies Drone Show — Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
- The Fleet: 400 synchronized drones
- When: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through August 9, 2026
- What to Expect: Taking over the Festival Field, Busch Gardens is flying two unique themed shows this season:
- May 22 – July 5: A patriotic-inspired drone spectacular honoring America’s upcoming 250th birthday.
- July 10 – August 9: An all-new show celebrating classic summertime fun. Both shows transition abstract patterns into vibrant animal silhouettes before building into an explosive fireworks display.
5. Summer Drones Spectacular — Busch Gardens Williamsburg
- When: Thursdays through Sundays throughout the summer
- What to Expect: Anchoring the park’s “Summer of Wonder” lineup, this production coordinates drones as they celebrate the park’s historic European architecture. If you’re visiting between June 29 and July 5, they add an exclusive patriotic drone block for Military Appreciation Week.
