Italian articulated spider crane manufacturer BG Lift has appointed the North American distribution subsidiary of Italian spider lift manufacturer CMC as its exclusive distributor for the USA.
The agreement takes effect from the start of August, with the arrival of some BG Lift inventory and demonstration units.

The BG Lift crane range runs from a 600kg model up to a 40 tonne heavy duty articulated/knuckle boom machine with a choice of diesel or lithium-ion battery power packs and are aimed at the industrial, utility, glazing, tree care and factory removal/installation markets. It also produces a tracked carry deck crane, and last year launched an unusual truck mounted crane.

BG Lift has never formally distributed its cranes in the US, although some units have been sold to companies based there. CMC North America will not only handle all sales and marketing in the country, but also provide technical support, operator training, service, warranty administration, and replacement parts support for all BG Lifts machines across the country.
CMC North America’s chief executive Jeff Poggi said: “We are thrilled to be appointed the exclusive distributor for BG Lift in the USA. BG Lift has a track record of designing and manufacturing high quality cranes that solve many challenging applications on job sites. We see a growing market in the US driven by demand from glazing, industrial, and general construction contractors; equipment rental fleets and tree care. The addition of BG Lift complements our CMC spider lift portfolio and allows us to offer customers a broader range of compact lifting solutions from a single trusted partner.”
BG Lift chief executive Maurizio Piantoni added: “We are excited to partner with CMC North America as we enter the U.S. market. They have built a strong sales, marketing, and distribution team who understand the benefits of equipment that solves access problems.”
CMC North America is based in Methuen, Massachusetts- due north of Boston- and runs an extensive national dealer and service network, which has been growing steadily over the past couple of years.
BG Lift, originally Brennero Gru, is based in Cavaion Veronese near Lake Garda northwest of Verona, and began producing cranes in 1991. .
