Aircraft lessor Azorra has acquired an Airbus A330-200 from TrueNoord, adding another widebody to a portfolio traditionally centered on regional and narrowbody aircraft.
The aircraft, manufacturer serial number (MSN) 1161, is currently leased to Maldivian Airlines, the flag carrier of the Maldives. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition continues Azorra’s gradual expansion into the widebody market after the company added Airbus A330s and Boeing 777-300ERs to its portfolio in 2023.
The move is somewhat unusual for Azorra, whose business has primarily focused on smaller aircraft such as the Airbus A220 and Embraer’s E-Jet family.
According to the lessor, its managed and owned fleet now totals 194 aircraft, including six widebodies.
Azorra said the A330 remains in demand among airlines and that the acquisition forms part of its strategy of selectively expanding its portfolio with aircraft offering long-term leasing opportunities.
