Robinson Helicopter Company (RHC), has delivered the 5,000th example of the R44 Raven II the company announced yesterday. The aircraft has gone to its Ecuadorian dealership ARICA. Since its entry to service the R44 has made its mark as one of the most successful light piston singles. The type comes in a number of variants and trims reflecting the wide range of uses owners and operators have found for the type. The Raven II with it’s fuel injection Lycoming IO-540 engine benefits from improvements in high altitude performance and a higher payload compared with the carburettor model fitted to the Raven I and has found a following for training, tours, agriculture work, news coverage and personal travel applications.
