Solairus deal creates first 500-aircraft management fleet

Size isn’t everything in business aircraft management, but reaching 500 managed aircraft is a milestone the industry has never seen before. Solairus announced on July 6th that it has agreed to purchase Clay Lacy’s aircraft management and charter division. The company already claims to be the world’s largest management fleet of almost 360 aircraft. Once the transaction is completed, the combination will create a fleet of over 500 aircraft. Clay Lacy will continue to operate its FBO, maintenance and real estate divisions. The rise of aircraft management Aircraft management companies handle day-to-day operations, regulatory requirements, crew staffing and charter activity for owners who do not have the time or desire to do so. A large fleet of managed aircraft typically indicates an operator’s ability to attract and retain aircraft owners.
