A truck driver died in Le Châble, in the Valais, Switzerland on Wednesday, after he was struck by part of a tower crane which fell or overturned while it was being erected, crushing him between the fallen crane and a skip according to the Police Cantonale Valaisanne.
The man, 53, who was helping install the crane was declared dead at the scene.
Colleagues on site attempted to treat him while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the causes of the incident
