GD Helicopter Finance (GDHF) has announced the singing of a finance agreement valued at EUR125 million with Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (HELABA) and Bayerische Landesbank (BayernLB) with support from BPI France Assurance (BPI France) which will be used to finance the purchase of a number of H160s and H175s due for delivery in 2027. This new finance facility has already supported the purchase of an H160 which was delivered in September. In addition to the Airbus order financing with BPI France, HELABA and Bayern LB have also committed to financing a number of AW189s which are also due for delivery during 2027.
Commenting on the announcement, GDHF CEO Michael York said “GDHF is very grateful to Helaba, BayernLB and BPI France for their strong support and partnership spirit that has enabled this finance facility. The loan will further enhance GDHF’s ability to regularly purchase factory new, cost-effective, multi-mission helicopters that meet or exceed the needs of our global customer base. GDHF sees this finance agreement as a strong endorsement of the strength of the helicopter industry and a validation of GDHF’s growth and maturity as a trusted provider of new technology helicopter solutions for the global market”.
Meanwhile, Jörg Schirrmacher (Head of Project Finance International – Asset Finance at Helaba) added: “We are delighted to be able to support the growth plan of GDHF and thank everybody involved for the good and trustworthy cooperation throughout the process. This is a further important step in the build out of Helaba’s helicopter finance franchise”.
With Bayern LB Head of Sector Aviation & Space Oliver Geldner concluding said: “We are pleased to contribute to GDHF’s growth strategy and thank everyone involved for the constructive and trusting collaboration throughout the transaction. This marks another milestone in further expanding BayernLB’s helicopter finance platform.”
