Airbus Helicopters has announced that the H175 has been granted certification by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), opening the Canadian market for the super-medium.
The H175 has already found favour in a variety of roles, principally offshore energy support – notably with NHV in the North Sea and PHI in Australia.
Airbus is has also been marketing the type as an effective SAR, EMS and corporate transport solution.
Bart Reijnen, Airbus Helicopters’ Head of the North America region, said: “This is a pivotal moment for the Canadian helicopter industry. We are delighted to receive Transport Canada certification for the H175, a testament to the dedication of our teams and the capabilities of this exceptional aircraft. This certification underscores our commitment to providing Canadian customers with advanced rotary-wing solutions that deliver enhanced performance, safety, and efficiency, and opens the door for new opportunities for operators seeking a highly capable, versatile, and dependable helicopter for their critical missions across Canada’s vast and challenging environment.”
With TCCA certification complete doubtless the company is re-focussing on FAA certification for the type. RotorHub International understands that the variables between EASA and FAA requirements will call for several test to be re-done to establish compliance and, as result push FAA approval to the middle of 2027.
