DHL Global Forwarding has re-launched its GoGreen Plus emissions reduction offering with three service levels, including an “opt out” base offering.
The new model includes three service levels: Base, Premium and Select. The Base level offers 10% emissions reduction through book and claim for all eligible shipments at a fixed flat rate.
“This provides customers with verified emission reductions without any additional charges beyond the standard rate,” DHL Global Forwarding said in a press release.
The fixed price applies across all markets, shipment types and routes, independent of origin or destination.
Kathrin Brost, vice president, global head of GoGreen Programme at DHL Global Forwarding, said: “You don’t need to invest millions to make a difference.
“Any business can start small, with just a few extra Euros per shipment and without additional effort. This is a major step forward toward enabling more sustainable supply chains at scale.”
GoGreen Plus Premium offers an 85% emissions reduction through book & claim solutions and is priced at lane level.
GoGreen Plus Select is a tailored solution with flexible emissions reduction levels for large GoGreen Plus customers and is customised to individual supply chains.
DHL said that book & claim would enable it to directly replace fossil fuels with sustainable fuels within the logistic company’s network and allocate environmental benefits to paying customers, even when their shipments are not physically transported with the assets using these fuels.
The enhancement of the GoGreen Plus portfolio comes at a time when demand for reliable emission-reducing services continues to rise, DHL said.
The DHL Group’s overarching sustainability roadmap included a target of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and has an interim goal of using 30% sustainable fuels by 2030.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel has played a big role in DHL’s GoGreen programme.
Late last year, for example, the company signed a new agreement to advance the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) with Air France KLM.
