Edelweiss took delivery of its first Airbus A320neo on April 2, the leisure airline said.
The aircraft, registered HB-JDB, arrived in Zurich after repainting in Edelweiss colors in the UK. It is scheduled to enter commercial service on April 4, operating flights to Larnaca and Rhodes.
Unlike a typical factory-fresh delivery, the jet is a six-year-old airframe that previously flew for SWISS, also part of Lufthansa Group.

The transfer is a common group practice, which reallocates aircraft between subsidiaries depending on demand and availability.
The A320neo will be used on short- and medium-haul routes, with Edelweiss planning to add up to six units of the type by 2028.
HB-JDB was originally delivered to SWISS in July 2020 and remained in service with the airline until early 2026. It is powered by Pratt & Whitney engines and configured with 180 seats.
Edelweiss has been modernizing its fleet with aircraft transferred from other Lufthansa Group airlines. In 2025, it introduced four Airbus A350-900s to replace its A340 fleet.
