Embraer presented its KC-390 Millennium military transport aircraft to Polish aerospace company Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 2 (WZL-2) in Bydgoszcz as the Brazilian manufacturer pursues a potential sale to Poland’s armed forces.
The visit is linked to Embraer’s proposal to involve Polish companies in the program. The company signed a memorandum of understanding with WZL-2 in Warsaw in December 2025 covering potential cooperation on maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities for the aircraft.
Under the proposal, Poland could host maintenance capabilities for the KC-390 fleet, allowing domestic companies to participate in long-term support and industrial work tied to the aircraft.

WZL-2 is one of Poland’s main military aviation maintenance centers and currently supports aircraft used by the country’s armed forces, including F-16 fighters and C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
Europe has been receptive to the Brazilian airlifter, with contracts already signed with Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Sweden, many of them NATO members. Lithuania also selected the aircraft but later revised its plans and postponed a contract to the 2030s.
The effort to expand cooperation with Polish industry comes after Embraer suffered a setback in the country’s civil aviation market. Poland’s flag carrier LOT selected the Airbus A220 to replace much of its regional fleet, a decision that sidelined Embraer’s E-Jet family despite the airline operating the Brazilian aircraft for many years.
