Jake Tomlin, President and CEO of Papillon Helicopters and Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines, has been nominated for the Vertical Aviation International (VAI) Board of Directors in the Large Operator category.
As a third generation aviation executive, Tomlin says he is looking to continue his familial connection to VAI by following his grandfather-in-law’s footsteps as a member of the association’s board.
Prior to his present role at Papillon Helicopters and Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines, he served as a Marine Corps officer and F/A-18 fighter pilot. In that service, he developed expertise in aviation maintenance oversight, quality assurance, and mission-focused operational leadership built on discipline and accountability.
Commenting on his nomination, Tomlin said: “My focus is simple: to advocate for all operators, elevate safety, and strengthen the relationships that move vertical flight forward. VAI plays an important role in unifying our industry, and I would be honoured to serve.”
