ITA Airways will join the Lufthansa Group’s Miles & More frequent flyer program starting April 1, as the Italian carrier continues its integration into the German airline group.
From that date, ITA passengers will be able to enroll in Miles & More through the airline’s website and mobile app, gaining access to a network of 35 airline partners and more than 135 additional partners across sectors such as hotels and car rental.
The change allows ITA Airways customers to earn and redeem miles across the Lufthansa Group and Star Alliance network, as well as with other partner airlines. Members will also be able to accumulate status points within the group’s frequent flyer structure.

For existing ITA frequent flyers, Lufthansa Group plans to introduce a status match offer, enabling them to transfer their benefits into the Miles & More program.
The addition of ITA Airways expands Miles & More to around 39 million members, who will also be able to earn and redeem miles on ITA’s route network.
ITA Airways began operations in October 2021 as the successor to Alitalia, which ceased flying after years of financial losses and repeated state support that failed to restore profitability.
Lufthansa Group agreed in 2023 to acquire an initial 41% stake in ITA Airways from the Italian government for €325 million, with options to increase its shareholding over time and eventually take full control of the airline.
The integration of ITA Airways into Lufthansa Group has since advanced across commercial, operational and loyalty areas, with further alignment expected as the process continues.
