Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense has selected the Pilatus PC-24 business jet and signed a contract for 12 aircraft to support pilot training, transport and liaison missions for the Indonesian Air Force.
The agreement was signed with PT E-System Solutions Indonesia, the ministry’s authorized defense contractor. It includes options for additional aircraft as well as ground support equipment, spare parts, training and technical support from Pilatus in Switzerland.
The PC-24 is designed for multi-role government operations, combining jet performance with the ability to operate from short and unpaved runways. It is certified for single-pilot operations and features a large cargo door, allowing it to handle a mix of passenger and freight missions.

Indonesia cited the aircraft’s ability to access remote locations as a key factor in its selection. With more than 17,000 islands, the country relies on aircraft capable of operating from limited infrastructure, including short airstrips and austere environments.
Pilatus said it will provide an integrated support package aimed at maintaining fleet availability and simplifying maintenance for the Indonesian Air Force.
Alongside the PC-24 contract, the parties also signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) covering the potential acquisition of 24 PC-21 turboprop trainers. The package includes training systems, spare parts and support equipment.
The government sales division has experienced significant growth, with contracts signed with several countries including the Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, and France.
