E-commerce logistics company Mark 3 International has appointed Chris Stevens as Asia business development executive as part of its efforts to expand in the region.
Stevens has 30 years of experience in the postal, parcel, courier, logistics and forwarding sectors, as well as a strong understanding of markets across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.
He has held senior positions at Swiss Post International (Asendia) and Bpost International (Landmark Global), focusing on global cross-border ecommerce.
Now in post as Asia business development executive, Stevens is able to provide expert advice on digital solutions for cross-border shipping (DDP and DDU), as well as data capture and enhancement, including HS Code classification, compliance, prohibited and restricted goods screening, duty, and tax calculation.
Stevens said: “The postal sector is a key area of focus due to the urgent needs to support digital transformation. Designated operators, typically national postal services, are tasked with managing the end-to-end postal supply chain, but they need help to navigate the rapid pace of regulatory change.
“This is where Mark 3 can add real value, helping organisations understand and manage in an increasingly turbulent trading environment.”
Stevens’ appointment follows a number of recent developments at Mark 3, which specialises in express parcel and freight logistics, particularly between the UK and the US.
These developments include the acquisition of Tricargo, a global air cargo sales solution, and a strategic partnership with DPD UK, part of the Geopost Group.
Last year, Mark 3 added warehousing facilities at JFK airport in New York, and will soon be adding further capacity at LAX.
The company has also invested in AI technology specialist Dobby AI to develop best-in-class tools for consolidating shipping data.
Matthew Ware, chief executive of Mark 3, commented: “Today’s international trading environment, characterised by rapidly changing tariffs and geopolitical challenges, is making it difficult and potentially expensive for exporters around the world to move their products.
“With Chris’ appointment, we are strengthening our position in the Far East, meaning we can now support exporters there by offering more choice and deep expertise in global logistics.”
