Canadian avionics manufacturer, Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing Corp. (AEM), has received Transport Canada approval to add Bell 206 and 407s to the existing Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for its MTP136D P25 forest service and MTP138 VHF FM radios. The STC SH24-21 now simplifies radio installations and meets requirements for Bell 206 and 407 helicopters.
“The MTP136D gained United States Forest Service (USFS) approval just over 12 months ago and we have delivered more than 450 radios to aerial firefighting customers to date,” says Tony Weller, AEM’s Sales and Marketing Director. “This updated STC now allows even more operators to install the most reliable and easy-to-use aerial firefighting radio on the market.”
AEM’s STC update covers the installation of the MTP136D and MTP138 radios for the following Airbus and Bell models: AS350B, BA, B1, B2, B3, C, D, D1; and Bell 206, 206A, 206A-1, 206B, 206B-1, 206L, 206L-1, 206L-3, 206L-4, 407. AEM also has an MTP136D STC in place for Bell 204, 205, 210, 212 and 412 models.
Alpine Helicopters, who have already upgraded their Bell 212 and 412 fleet, provided the aircraft and support to get this latest STC addition over the line. They will now begin their Bell 206 and 407 fleet conversion to the MTP136D.
