Adventure Pilot released version 14 of its iFly electronic flight bag last week, adding higher-resolution satellite imagery, faster graphics performance, expanded audio alerts and updated charts across Apple, Windows and Android devices.
That cross-platform support isn’t universal among rivals, according to Adventure Pilot. At $94.99 a year, iFly also undercuts ForeFlight’s Starter plan and Garmin Pilot Standard on price.RELATED STORY: What to Keep in Your Flight Bag as a Professional Pilot
Version 14 sharpens map detail across all flight phases, giving pilots more context for landmarks and ground features. Synthetic vision, a vertical profile display, and alerts for terrain, obstacles and airspace come standard, features that competing platforms often lock behind higher service tiers.
“We focused this release on what pilots actually see and use in the cockpit,” said Juanita Boyd, vice president of operations at Adventure Pilot. “Better visuals, faster performance, and clearer alerts—those are the things that make a real difference in flight.”
