The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore announced the winner of it Unmanned Traffic Management Systems (UTMS) tender – Thales Solutions Asia Pte Ltd.
According to a Linkedin post from the CAAS;
“From an initial list of seven qualified bidders, three were shortlisted in the first stage of a “two-envelope” tender. “Two-envelope” refers to a two-step evaluation initially assessing the technical merits of each proposal before making a final selection based on pricing……As the major supplier of Singapore’s civil ATM systems with a strong local presence, the award did not come as a surprise, given the need for seamless integration between the national UTM and existing ATM infrastructure.
“This milestone has also prompted reflection within industry circles on how such programmes could serve as engines for building local expertise, driving innovation, and supporting long-term growth. The Singapore UAS community looks ahead to future opportunities that support the strengthening of indigenous capabilities and deepen the ecosystem.”
In May 2025 CAAS and Thales jointly set up an International Avionics Lab in Singapore to test-bed and develop new avionics solutions to enhance air traffic management and airport operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
