U.S.-based aircraft lessor Azorra has completed the acquisition of the last 13 Embraer E190 aircraft and 36 General Electric CF34-10E6 engines formerly operated by JetBlue, concluding a transaction announced in 2025.
The company said it is already placing the aircraft and engines with customers worldwide, adding the assets to a portfolio that now exceeds 300 owned, managed and committed aircraft and engines.
The deal closes the chapter on the Embraer E190 at JetBlue, which became the launch customer for the type in the United States in 2008. Configured with 100 seats, the aircraft allowed the airline to open nonstop routes that were not economically viable with larger narrowbody jets.
JetBlue later decided to simplify its fleet around the Airbus A220 and the A320 family. The gradual retirement of the E190 fleet was completed in September 2025 after nearly 17 years of service.
For Azorra, the acquisition fits its strategy of investing in aircraft with up to 150 seats. The lessor has become one of the most active players in the regional aircraft market, with a portfolio that includes Embraer E-Jets, Airbus A220s and turboprops.
Earlier this year, the company also completed the placement of 12 Airbus A220-300 aircraft previously operated by EgyptAir, another transaction that expanded its presence in the secondary market for modern regional and small narrowbody aircraft.
Besides the aircraft, Azorra also acquired 36 CF34-10E6 engines, adding to a growing engine portfolio at a time when airlines continue to face maintenance bottlenecks and shortages of spare powerplants.
