Sanlorenzo now has an even bigger presence on the high seas.
The Italian shipyard just launched the largest superyacht in its 68-year history. The 239-foot Virtuosity is the second hull in Sanlorenzo’s flagship 74Steel series, following on from the slightly smaller 236-foot Silver Fox that was launched last October.
More than four years in the making, Virtuosity shares the same technical foundations—a steel hull, aluminum superstructure, and hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system—as the inaugural unit, but introduces features “never seen before on a superyacht,” Sanlorenzo says. Those industry firsts include a living tree rising through two decks, an underwater aquarium in the hull, a waterside “ocean resort,” and an architectural reflecting pool.

Virtuosity was commissioned in collaboration with Fraser Yachts and developed by Sanlorenzo’s in-house style department, with Zuccon International Project shaping the exterior and Studio Paolo Ferrari spearheading the interiors. It cuts a more assertive silhouette than Silver Fox, featuring a sleek, arrow-shaped bow rather than a vertical one. It is different inside, too, with a layout focused on integrating living nature.
The entire design grew around the Ficus Nitida, which stretches from the main deck through an oval void of approximately 172 square feet to the upper deck. Two lateral skylights direct natural light downward, nourishing the tree and creating a bright, airy atmosphere. Another living feature is the striking aquarium on the lower deck. A partially submerged glazed section of the hull creates a window below the waterline, giving guests a cinematic view of the ocean and the marine wildlife within.

There are, of course, more traditional touches. The beach club, or what Sanlorenzo calls the “ocean resort,” covers over 2,400 square feet, offering up a lounge with a DJ booth and direct access to the swim platform and fold-out terraces. It also affords prime views of the large glass-bottom pool on the aft deck above. Other highlights include a wellness area, a winter garden, a helipad that doubles as a sport deck, and a sundeck with another pool.
A triple-height lobby with a staircase and lift connects the main deck to the two decks above. Accommodation includes two owner’s suites—one with a rotating bed, the other with a reflecting pool—a spacious full-beam VIP, and four guest cabins. The yacht can sleep up to 12 guests and a full crew.
The third hull in the 74Steel series is currently in production.
