TAG Heuer and Team Ikuzawa are back at it again.
Following in the footsteps of their 2023 collab (which sent the internet into a frenzy), the watchmaker and the Japanese motorsports brand have teamed up once more on a new Carrera Chronograph. The duo also tapped Bamford Watch Department to help bring the new timepiece imbued in racing heritage to life.
For the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa watch, the creators looked back to the Roadmaster stopwatch, a piece preserved in the Team Ikuzawa archives known for its bold graphics and legibility. The result is a modern homage to analogue racing, all housed in a reinterpretation of TAG’s 39 mm Carrera Glassbox (a noticeable size difference from the previous collaboration’s 44 mm), which allows for a clear view of the dial and the flange.

The timepiece itself is housed in a fine brushed and polished steel case, with red and white hues abound across the Clou de Paris textured–dial, a tribute to Team Ikuzawa’s colors. That brighter hue can be spotted in the lacquered hour and minute hands as well as the central chronograph’s seconds hand and the date disc, while white comes into play on the dial and the minutes track. And instead of traditional applied markers, you’re getting printed indexes that reinforce the connection to the Roadmaster.
Powering the new model is the TH20-10 movement, which doesn’t offer up a running seconds display. The choice was purposeful: TAG Heuer chronographs from the 1960s and ‘70s often left dial space open for sponsors, partners, and the racing teams themselves. That tradition continues here, with Team Ikuzawa’s signature placed right at 6 o’clock. Flip it over and you’ll catch a glimpse of the watch’s individual number on the caseback, as well as etchings of Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department.
The watch comes with three straps up for grabs: a seven-row steel bracelet, with both brushed and polished finishes; a perforated white-leather strap with red stitching that nods to racing gloves; and a red-and-white textile strap that brings Team Ikuzawa’s livery to the wrist. And the racing inspiration doesn’t stop there, as the watch will come in a toolbox similar to those found in pit garages. You’ll also be getting a travel pouch and some charms for an extra touch.

For the unversed, Team Ikuzawa came into being back in 1981 as a Japanese racing team, thanks to the vision of the famed racer Tetsu Ikuzawa. The icon had plenty of superb driving experience under his belt. He won the 1964 Japan Grand Prix in a Skyline GT, a victory that has since become legend, and he was the first Japanese driver to compete at Le Mans 24 Hours in 1967, among many, many other accolades. Team Ikuzawa is now under the leadership of Mai Ikuzawa, Ikuzawa’s daughter, who has taken bits and pieces of motorsport, design, and fashion to merge the company into a global force in the lifestyle sector.
