Australian Earth observation satellite company LatConnect 60 (LC60) has strengthened its position in India with two strategic agreements announced at the Bengaluru Space Expo 2026 on September 7th, spanning satellite mission infrastructure and access to India’s defence and geospatial intelligence market.
The agreements with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and GeoSyze EO Solutions LLP establish complementary pathways for LC60: operational support for its SWIRSAT constellation through Indian government-linked ground infrastructure, and a local channel for delivering Earth observation data, analytics and future SWIR intelligence products to Indian defence, security and intelligence customers.
NSIL, the commercial arm of India’s space program, signed an agreement with LC60 at the Expo to provide telemetry, tracking and command services for the company’s SWIRSAT-1 and SWIRSAT-2 spacecraft. NSIL said the satellites are currently scheduled for launch in the first and second quarters of 2027, respectively.
This agreement will enable access to NSIL ground-station infrastructure in India to support mission operations and satellite data downlink requirements, adding an important Indian node to the ground architecture supporting SWIRSAT.
The signing took place in the presence of Australian High Commissioner to India Philip Green OAM as well as the Australian High Commission, Austrade India, the Australian Space Agency and the Western Australian Government’s Invest and Trade office in India.
In a second announcement, LC60 entered into a strategic agreement with GeoSyze EO Solutions LLP, an Indian geospatial technology company with experience across satellite data, geospatial intelligence, analytics and solutions serving defence, security and intelligence applications.
Under the agreement, GeoSyze will act as a strategic consultant and channel partner, working with LC60 to explore and facilitate delivery of its Earth observation datasets, future SWIR products and advanced analytics into the Indian defence market.
The two agreements come as LC60 accelerates development of its SWIRSAT short-wave infrared Earth observation constellation. The Perth-headquartered company’s roadmap calls for an 18-satellite constellation by 2029, with a longer-term pathway toward more than 100 satellites by 2035.
LC60 is developing SWIRSAT as part of a vertically integrated Earth-intelligence architecture combining satellite collection, ground infrastructure, data processing and AI-enabled analytics for defence, agriculture, resources, maritime and environmental applications.
India therefore represents more than a potential customer market for LC60. The NSIL agreement connects the constellation to one of the world’s most established space infrastructures, while GeoSyze provides a pathway into one of the Indo-Pacific’s largest defence and geospatial intelligence markets.
Announced on the opening day of the September 7–9 Bengaluru Space Expo organised by CII in partnership with ISRO, IN-SPACe and NSIL, the agreements position India as an increasingly important operational and commercial node in LC60’s global SWIRSAT strategy.
