The Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (German Federal Aviation Authority) has approved DRF Luftrettung’s use of the hoistAR® hoist simulator the the rescue provider has announced on the eve of the tri-annual AirMed World Congress which begins in Munich tomorrow evening.
The approval makes DRF Luftrettung the first air rescue operator in Europe whose training syllabus for winch operations has received approval by a national authority. In the future, crews at the five stations with hoist helicopters will have access to additional virtual training options in addition the practical training sessions conducted twice a year.
Additionally, the hoistAR® simulator can be used for ‘whole team’ training since it can be coupled with the H145 Full Flight Simulator at LAT Lufthansa Aviation Training in Frankfurt. DRF Luftrettung will have the hoistAR simulator on display at the Congress which continues until Saturday.
