India to modernise fractional aircraft ownership rules

India is set to introduce a dedicated designation for fractional aircraft operators, featuring clear ownership regulations, streamlined taxation, and strengthened oversight. The amendment of fractional ownership regulations, coming after four years of political deliberations, is expected in April and to come into force in June, and has already been drafted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Currently, fractional operators are required to operate under non-scheduled operator permits (NSOPs) intended for on-demand charter services.
