A Texas Ranch Hits the Market for $25.9 Million

Ketterman Ranch in Central Texas, just about an hour from both Austin and San Antonio, spans more than 1,200 acres and offers the attractions of a ranch lifestyle—multiple lakes, exotic wildlife, and equestrian facilities—without sacrificing access to the conveniences of city living.

At the center of the sprawling property is a 10,000-square-foot, lodge-style residence overlooking a series of bass-filled lakes. A soaring stone fireplace anchors the great room, while the kitchen, dining room, and other entertaining spaces are sized for large gatherings.

The Hill Country setting is both manicured and rugged, with subtle elevation changes offering long views across the surrounding landscape. Roads and improvements provide access to all parts of the property, with multiple guest lodges to accommodate extended family and friends. In all there are nine bedrooms and 30 bathrooms.

Out back, an expansive covered patio has a full bar and plenty of seating, with a swimming pool, spa, and putting green for practicing your strokes. A detached fitness center includes a climbing room, while the outdoor sports facilities include a full-size basketball court that doubles as a tennis court and a separate pickleball court with two setups. The ranch’s lakes are another defining feature, with a private water system and substantial wells supporting the property.

Ketterman Ranch is on the market for $25.9 million with Cord Shiflet of Moreland Properties and Jordan Shipley—a former wide receiver who played in the NFL and at the University of Texas—of Shipley Ranches.

Another Texas ranch of comparable scale hit the market over the summer: Rolling R Ranch, a 1,300-acre property outside Dallas, was listed for $21.5 million by a grandson of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
