DART Aerospace has received an updated FAA STC for its Cable Cutter system, which is now approved for installation on Airbus H145 BK117D3 models.
This latest update expands DART’s existing coverage for the Airbus H145/EC145 T2 and BK117D2 platforms, further strengthening its portfolio of safety solutions across the H145 family.
The DART Cable Cutter Kit is designed to enhance helicopter safety during wire strike events. By providing a reliable means of cutting cables or wires before catastrophic damage occurs, the system helps protect both the aircraft and its occupants.
The design reduces the probability of wires entering the cockpit and minimises the risk of flight control damage critical factors in maintaining aircraft integrity and control.
The system incorporates both upper and lower cutters, each equipped with high-strength cutting blades. DART’s cutter design has been carefully tested to verify its capability to cut through cables with a tensile strength of up to 14,000 pounds.
A DART Aerospace spokesperson said: “With this latest certification, DART Aerospace continues to expand its mission-critical safety solutions, supporting operators with reliable and proven equipment across an even broader range of aircraft configurations.”
