Thr driver of an SUV/4X4 car died on thursday after crashing into a boom lift that was working on Highway 16 near Acheson roughly 10 miles west of Edmonton in Canada.
The man in the platform survived the impact but is reported to have suffered serious injuries.
The lift a Skykack SJ 86T from the United Rentals fleet, was being used to work on the Highway 60 overpass above the West bound lane of Highway 16.The lane he was working from was closed and cordoned off with barricades at the time, but still crashed through.

The deceased man, 44, was driving a Dodge Durango SUV which was almost completely demolished, suggesting that he was travelling at some speed when he hit the boom lift, which weighs more than 17 tonnes. He was declared dead at the scene shortly after the emergency services arrived.
