Yerevan-based carrier has selected the CFM International Leap-1A engine to power the jets.
FlyOne Armenia has firmed up an order with Airbus for two A321neos, both of which will be powered by CFM International Leap-1A engines.
The Yerevan-based carrier had signed a provisional agreement for the two jets in May during a visit to Armenia by French president Emmanuel Macron.
FlyOne Armenia will configure the aircraft in an all-economy class layout with 239 seats.
“Our first direct order with Airbus marks an important and symbolic milestone in FlyOne Armenia’s development,” says the carrier’s chief executive, Aram Khachatryan.
“Having two new A321neo aircraft built by Airbus specifically for our airline reflects our continued commitment to fleet modernisation and long-term growth.”
FlyOne Armenia began operations in 2021. It operates a fleet of 11 A320-family aircraft.
The carrier signed an agreement in August to wet-lease an additional A320 from Avion Express over the summer.
Airbus has not disclosed delivery dates for the aircraft.
