Jazeera Airways CEO Barathan Pasupathi has praised the Embraer E195-E2 following a visit to the Brazilian manufacturer’s headquarters and production facilities after attending the International Air Transport Association (IATA) annual general meeting in Rio de Janeiro.
In a LinkedIn post, Pasupathi said he had the opportunity to fly aboard the E195-E2 and gain a closer look at Embraer’s customer center and manufacturing operations.
While noting the aircraft’s quiet cabin and passenger-friendly 2-2 seating layout, the executive said its economics were what impressed him most.
“In an industry where profitability is built one seat, one route and one kilogram of fuel at a time, the E195-E2 is a true profit hunter,” Pasupathi wrote.
According to him, the aircraft’s combination of range, fuel efficiency and capacity opens opportunities in markets that are too large for regional aircraft but too small to support larger narrowbody jets.
“Its combination of range, fuel efficiency and right-sized capacity creates opportunities to serve markets that are often too large for regional aircraft and too small for larger narrowbodies,” he said.
Pasupathi also praised Embraer’s manufacturing processes and workforce, citing the company’s use of Kaizen and takt production methods.

“Sometimes the most interesting aircraft are not the biggest ones. They are the ones that quietly deliver aviation economics in tough supply chain and operating environments,” he added.
The comments are noteworthy because Jazeera Airways currently operates an all-Airbus fleet. According to fleet data, the Kuwaiti low-cost carrier has 22 aircraft in service, split evenly between 11 A320ceos and 11 A320neos.

The airline has previously signaled interest in the E2 family. In June 2025, Pasupathi said Jazeera was evaluating Embraer E2 jets for lower-density point-to-point routes as part of its fleet planning, while also considering longer-range Airbus A321LR and A321XLR aircraft.
Founded in 2004, Jazeera Airways is Kuwait’s second-largest airline and operates scheduled services across the Middle East, South Asia and Europe from Kuwait International Airport.
