Following her final appearance as Dr. Izzie Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy in 2010, Katherine Heigl began transitioning her life away from Los Angeles. Her destination: a nearly 25-acre estate nestled in the charmingly rural Utah town of Oakley, amid the Kamas Valley on the outskirts of Park City.
The Emmy-winning actress initially paid $1 million for a parcel in the gated Maple Ridge Ranches community back in 2007, the same year she married her husband, musician Josh Kelley. After custom-building a sprawling stone and wood mountain house there the next year, they began using it as a vacation retreat before making it their primary residence in 2012, ultimately raising three children on the property.

Now, as the couple prepares to downsize to a Victorian farmhouse nearby they spent the last year restoring, they have officially placed their longtime home on the market. The asking price is $10.6 million, with the listing held by Paul Benson of Engel & Völkers Park City.
“It’s been very hard to decide to let it go,” Heigl told The Wall Street Journal. “I’m a real sort-of homebody and creature of habit.” She added that when the children she shares with Kelley are “all gone—slaying their own dragons and living their lives—it’s just you and me in this giant house on this giant land.”

Blending rustic mountain architecture with refined, comfortable interiors, the main home offers a total of six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Roughly 8,300 square feet across four levels showcase concrete floors, soaring vaulted ceilings with exposed timber beams, and walls of glass framing picturesque views of the surrounding Uinta Mountains.
Standing out is a voluminous stone-accented great room anchored by a steel fireplace stretching to the top of the 30-foot ceiling. A chandelier-topped dining area connects to a recently updated kitchen, which comes with an island sporting apothecary-style drawers and an integrated dining table, a La Cornue range, a hidden pantry, and an adjoining keeping room.

A fireside primary retreat upstairs has a sitting area, an oversized walk-in closet, and a barrel-vaulted bath spotlighted by an asymmetrical soaking tub. A spacious covered deck with a fireplace is accessible to all the bedrooms on this level, including a secondary primary suite used for guests. The lower levels, meanwhile, hold a movie theater displaying a wall dedicated to Heigl’s knitting hobby, plus a spa wing with a sauna and a multihead steam shower finished in honeycomb onyx.
In addition to several terraces ideal for alfresco relaxing, the grassy grounds host a large heated pool featuring an electronic safety cover, along with a detached, craned-in studio that has served as Heigl’s art studio and Kelley’s working leather atelier. There’s also a listening shack rebuilt by hand from 200-year-old reclaimed oak containing a turntable and records.
