Irish powered access distributor and serving company Lolex has opened a new headquarters in Antrim, northwest of Belfast, marking the occasion with an official opening event at the site for customers, suppliers and industry partners.
Established in 2019 by wife and husband Julie Houston Smyth and Trevor Smyth, the business started as an independent service and consultancy operation, with distribution following later. Today it distributes Sinoboom in the UK and Ireland as well as Dinolift platforms and Navigator Lifts. It has also recently taken on the distribution of the Palazzani spider lift range in Ireland.
The new facility has been selected due to its access to the M2 motorway as well as Belfast Port and International Airport. It is more than half an acre in size with 600 square metres of workshop and office space. Ronald Donders, general manager of Sinoboom Europe, cut the ribbon to officially open the new facility.
Lolex technical director, Trevor Smyth said: “Everything that we learned from our experience in powered access rental we have applied to this business. Many of our customers are rental companies and we completely understand their requirements and the reaction times they need.”
Julie Houston Smyth, Lolex managing director added: “The opening of this new facility is a real personal achievement for us. Those who know how we started in 2019 will understand that, and we have worked very hard to get here. We are extremely grateful to all our customers, suppliers and industry friends for all their support. And now with two of our sons joining the business we’re ready to go up a level on the next step of business growth.”
