Metro Aviation has entered the flight simulation market with the introduction of MetroAero Sim, an avionics simulation platform designed to provide realistic, scenario-based rotorcraft training. The new training solution is on display at the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) in Fort Worth which concludes today.
While not a certified flight training device, the company says the simulator is designed for flight schools, air medical operators, and aviation training organisations, and bridges the gap between classroom instruction and traditional flight simulation. The platform allows pilots to practice cockpit procedures, avionics management, and system operations in an interactive, controlled environment.
MetroAero Sim integrates multiple aircraft systems, including advanced autopilot functions, terrain awareness and warning systems, navigation displays, and aircraft system monitoring. The platform replicates the interaction between these systems, allowing pilots to develop familiarity with complex cockpit workflows and practice responding to a variety of flight conditions.
The system also supports repeatable training scenarios, giving instructors the ability to reinforce procedures, evaluate performance, and build pilot proficiency. Its configurable architecture allows the platform to accommodate multiple aircraft types and training requirements.
“MetroAero Sim gives pilots an opportunity to build confidence and familiarity with aircraft systems without the high cost of using the actual aircraft, an expensive FTD, or full motion simulator,” said Metro President and CEO Mike Stanberry. “It’s another tool to support training, reinforce procedures, and help pilots make the most of their time in the aircraft.”
