Rotortrade is strengthening its support capabilities in East Africa through a cooperation agreement with Helicopters International Ltd (Helint), an established helicopter maintenance and support provider based in Nairobi.
This cooperation is intended to enhance Rotortrade’s ability to support helicopter operators across East Africa by facilitating access to local maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.
Helint operates multiple Part 145 maintenance approvals across East Africa and Central Africa, with additional certifications in progress. The company provides scheduled and unscheduled line and base maintenance across several widely operated helicopter platforms, including the MD 500 series, Airbus Helicopters H125 series, Leonardo AW119, AW109, and AW139, as well as Bell and Agusta-Bell 212 and 412.
Through its cooperation with Helint, which is also a certified service centre and maintenance provider for Honeywell Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney Canada, Rotortrade aims to further strengthen its ability to support both lease and sale campaigns in the region by facilitating access to local maintenance capabilities when required.
Aurélien Blanc, EVP Head of Region APAC/MEA at Rotortrade, said: “East Africa continues to represent an important and growing market for helicopter operators. As we continue to expand our global support infrastructure, it is essential that we also work closely with experienced regional organisations. This cooperation allows us to enhance our ability to support customers locally while maintaining the flexibility and technical standards they expect from Rotortrade.”
Helint’s regional presence and technical capabilities provide Rotortrade with additional flexibility in supporting aircraft transitions, inspections, and entry-into-service activities, depending on customer requirements.
Mandeep Singh Osahan, Managing Director of Helint, said: “We are pleased to cooperate with Rotortrade and support their activities, especially with our strategic footprint and MRO capabilities in Greater East Africa. Our regional maintenance capabilities and experience across multiple helicopter platforms position us well to assist operators and facilitate aircraft transitions, inspections, and ongoing technical support where required.”
