Just 30 minutes from downtown Santa Fe is a ranch estate that feels almost like a TV set, which makes it no surprise it’s appeared on shows such as Succession and Roswell.
The 178-acre compound encompasses more than 20,000 square feet of living space and is currently owned by Jochen Zeitz, the former chairman and CEO of both Puma and Harley-Davidson. While the property dates back to 1999, it incorporates Wild West elements that give the property the character of an earlier era. Guests, for example, can stay over in the property’s torreón—an old Western jail—and there’s a “general store,” although the items within are for show rather than for sale.
The custom kitchen sports textured wood cabinetry and an arched bóveda ceiling.

The centerpiece of the ranch is the main hacienda, originally designed by the architect William F. Tull and recently updated and expanded by the firms Fearon Hay and Olivia Williams Studio. The home features hand-carved beams and cabinetry, rounded bóveda ceilings, stacked Anasazi stone, and flagstone and granite surfaces. Standout spaces include the custom kitchen, with its richle textured finishes, and the indoor “saloon” where guests can grab a drink and embrace the Old West theme.

A spacious primary suite is one of six bedrooms in the main residence. Elsewhere on the grounds, additional guest accommodations bring the total to 16 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, and four powder rooms. The ranch’s central plaza includes a chapel set up to show movies, an outdoor cantina and rose garden, a carriage house, and a recording studio. Back at the main house, there’s also an infinity-edge pool.

Equestrian facilities include stabling blocks for about a dozen horses.

The New Mexico estate also functions as a working ranch, with a complete equestrian setup with 12 stalls, paddocks, a fenced arena, a hot walker, and a round pen. A nearby four-bedroom caretaker’s house provides accommodation for the ranch staff.
Zeitz is listing the ranch for $16.5 million with Neil Lyon at Sotheby’s International Realty—Santa Fe Brokerage.
