Upon relocating from the U.K. to Los Angeles in 2020—before ultimately settling in Montecito—Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found sanctuary at a gigantic, double-gated Beverly Hills compound long owned by actor, filmmaker, and studio head Tyler Perry. Tucked away in the mountains above Coldwater Canyon, the secluded estate sits at the back of the 24-7 guard-gated Beverly Ridge Estates, an enclave of just 14 lavish homes.
Now, as the owner of Tyler Perry Studios scales back his work schedule to focus on his 11-year-old son, Aman, he is actively downsizing his real estate portfolio ahead of a planned relocation to Puerto Rico early next year. In tandem with listing a $39.5 million property in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, he’s officially placed his 90210 estate up for sale at $57 million with Santiago Arana of The Agency.

Spanning nearly 25,000 square feet, the multi-winged megamansion has nine bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, including a one-bedroom guesthouse. Perry acquired the roughly 22.5-acre parcel in 2004 for $4.3 million, subsequently spending millions more to custom-build a Tuscan-style villa completed in 2012 and dubbed Chateau Reve. At one point before its completion, Kanye West reportedly toured the active construction site, expressing a keen interest in purchasing the sprawling hillside complex.
Not only does the fortress rest within a guard-gated enclave, but it is further fortified by its own driveway gate, a sophisticated network of security cameras, and a state-of-the-art alarm system. The premises are also monitored by Perry’s own elite, 24-hour security team.

The butterfly-shaped floor plan is centered around a soaring foyer with a sweeping bifurcated staircase, connecting expansive living areas, a private study, and a chef’s kitchen. Other interior amenities include a 24-seat movie theater, and a primary retreat with dedicated massage and salon rooms, while the grounds boast multiple terraces and a large pool.
Perry’s passion for palatial properties is well-documented. The Madea star and filmmaker once owned a 35,000-square-foot home in Atlanta’s tony Buckhead neighborhood that he sold in 2016 for a record $17.5 million. Today, he lays claim to an even bigger, $100 million custom empire in Douglasville, Georgia, spanning over 2,100 acres and boasting its own airstrip, as well as two private islands in the Bahamas.
