United Airlines is set to add several new international routes for this Northern Hemisphere winter season, as the carrier adds non-stop flights to Cartagena, Colombia, from both Houston and Washington Dulles. This will be in addition to its existing services to both Bogota and Medellin.
Alongside these flights to Colombia, United will add a new non-stop link to the Caribbean’s Turks and Caicos, with a flight to the territory’s Providenciales International Airport (PLS).
United Airlines New Services To The Colombian City Of Cartagena
United will launch its new flight to Cartagena from both Houston and Washington Dulles this coming December, with the route being operated by the airline’s Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. These planes can carry between 164 and 166 passengers in a multiple-class layout, including Domestic First, United Plus Economy, and United Economy.
The expansion of flights to Cartagena symbolizes the carrier’s 156th international destination in its network, and fourth in the region this year after Caracas, Tuxtla, and St Croix. These flights will complement the airlines’ existing Colombian services to both Bogota El Dorado International Airport (BOG) and Medellin International Airport (MDE).
Route | Start Date | Frequency | Aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
Houston (IAH) to Cartagena (CTG) | December 17, 2026 | 4x Weekly | Boeing 737 MAX 8 |
Washington Dulles (IAD) to Cartagena (CTG) | December 19, 2026 | 4x Weekly | Boeing 737 MAX 8 |
Flights to Cartagena are seasonal and will run through the Northern Hemisphere winter season. This new destination is the airline’s 69th destination in Latin America, and Cartagena is a popular spot for travelers due to its Caribbean coastline, freshly caught seafood, and the city’s vibrant colors and culture.
Once Weekly Flights Added To Turks And Caicos
From December to April, Denver will see a new international non-stop route to Providenciales, as the carrier ramps up services to the British overseas territory in the Caribbean. The weekly service adds to the airline’s already established presence at PLS, and is a result of the work of extensive negotiations from the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA).
United already maintains year-round link to PLS from both
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). Additional seasonal services are added in the Northern Hemisphere winter season from
Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD),
Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), and now
Denver International Airport (DEN). No other airline provides non-stop flights from Denver to Providenciales, meaning now travelers can be shuttled to the Caribbean destination non-stop from Colorado.
Route | Start Date | Frequency | Aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
Denver (DEN) to Providenciales (PLS) | December 19 | 1x Weekly | Boeing 737 MAX 9 |
Flights are timed to leave Denver mid-morning on Saturdays, with an early morning arrival, making it easy for travelers to connect from other US destinations on the country’s west coast. The return service arrives back into Denver in the early evening, again promptly timed for easy connections to the wider UA network.

United Airlines To Debut New Transcon Fort Lauderdale Route With The Boeing 737 MAX 9
The carrier announced the new route earlier this month.
Other New Services Headed For Cartagena And Providenciales
The addition of new flights to Cartagena will complement the existing domestic and international network already on offer from the Colombian airport, which includes non-stop international link to the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Costa Rica, Panama, Switzerland, Peru, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain. World2Fly is set to add its own link to Cartagena from
Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD) this coming July.
From Providenciales, the airline has an extensive network of services across the Caribbean provided by InterCaribbean Airways, while international flights are offered to Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Bahamas. This winter, Porter Airlines is set to add new links to Ottawa and Toronto, while BermudAir will add seven new routes from the airport, with six to the United States and one to Canada.
For travelers looking for a winter escape to tropical temperatures, United Airlines new link to both Cartagena and Providenciales are likely to be popular, and celebrate the airline’s continued international and domestic growth this year. While these routes will remain seasonal, the popularity and demand will likely be a good test for the airline to see if they are worth repeating next winter.
