The US Department for War has announced Lockheed Martin has been awarded a USD2,998,742,163 fixed-price-incentive, cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-no-fee contract for Sentinel A4 radar production and engineering services.
“Bids were solicited via the internet with one received,” said the announcement. “Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of June 29, 2031.
Sentinel A4 is a replacement of the legacy Sentinel A3 (AN/MPQ-64A3) air and missile defence radar that will provide significant improvements to the existing Sentinel capability against cruise missiles, unmanned aerial systems, rotary wing and fixed wing threats, says the company.
