The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has published its annual deliveries report which shows that 938 civilian helicopters were delivered in 2025 slightly down on 2024 but a 5.5% increase in cumulative value with billings of USD 4.7 billion posted. The actual delivery and figures may be a little higher since the association lists all UH-60/S-70 deliveries as military.
Piston powered helicopters accounted for 206 units, and turbine helicopters at 732 , a decrease of four and fourteen units respectively. Robinson’s R44 family the most numerous type delivered with 171 aircraft across the family leaving Torrance 122 of which were Raven IIs.
Meanwhile, the H125’s numerical dominance of the turbine market remains secure with 136 examples delivered. Airbus also dominated deliveries in the twin market with 190 helicopters leaving the lines at Marignane and Donouwirth, 96 of which were H145s. In the mediums 47 AW139s were delivered compared with 29 H160s and 8 B412EPXs.
The heavy twin market continues to defy predictions with 12 H225s and 2 S-92s delivered the latter without the benefit of full scale production, begging the question, is 2026 the year Sikorsky will move from talking about a re-start of production to realisation?
