All Nippon Airways (ANA) has converted three of its Boeing 787-10 orders to the smaller 787-9 variant as part of a fleet strategy adjustment in Tokyo, the company confirmed on March 27, 2026.
The carrier placed an order for 11 Boeing 787-10s in 2020 to support its fleet renewal plans. Seven of these 787-10s have been delivered between 2023 and 2025, with an eighth due later this year.
“The order revision supports its medium- to long-term business objectives,” said ANA.

The three 787-9s converted from the original order are scheduled to join ANA’s fleet in 2027. These aircraft are expected to offer greater operational flexibility across the network.
ANA has primarily deployed the 787-10s on domestic routes since deliveries began. The airline is also introducing updated cabin products on its long-haul 787-9 fleet.
ANA was the first launch customer for the widebody jet just over 15 years ago. It currently has a fleet of 83 Dreamliners, comprising 33 787-8s, 40 787-9s, and 10 787-10s. The higher-capacity variant, however, has a shorter range.
