If sharing a shoreline with the neighbors isn’t your idea of paradise, owning an entire island is the obvious alternative.
Crown Pigeon Island & Cays is an 11-acre private island off Eleuthera in the Bahamas, just three miles from North Eleuthera Airport, where owners and guests can arrive by private jet before continuing by helicopter to the island hideaway’s private helipad. From there, it’s a short golf cart ride over to one of three oceanfront villas. There are also multiple homesites across the island where additional properties can be built for private use or expanded into a boutique resort.
One of the three villas opens to a tiled pool. A lower terrace has an outdoor kitchen and bar.

The island offers plenty of living space to accommodate friends and family. Across the various structures, there are a total of 15 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, plus five powder rooms in about 12,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space. The largest of the homes, with an island-inspired design scheme, spans five bedrooms and an oceanfront deck with a pool and a swim-up bar that looks out on the clear waters.

Another four-bedroom pad includes two primary suites, plus an extra two detached guest houses, while the smallest of the villas comprises a two-bedroom abode complemented by two guest cottages and a large deck with a pool and an outdoor bar.

Freestanding guest cottages complement the island’s three villas.

Life on Crown Pigeon revolves around the water. Three beaches ring the island, while a beach club with a bar and grill provides a natural gathering spot. The protected four-acre deep-water marina offers more than 600 feet of dockage, three slips, two boat lifts, and a floating dock, making it easy to explore the surrounding waters—some of the best deep-sea fishing in the Bahamas lies only about two miles offshore. For time spent on land, the island also features a compact golf course with three greens and multiple teeing areas that can be arranged into 21 different hole configurations.
Crown Pigeon is listed for $39.5 million with Colleen Carey and Lana Rademaker of Bahamas Sotheby’s International Realty.
