In the last few days, Airbus and Boeing have released their latest deliveries data, indicating that both aircraft manufacturers are outpacing their performance last year.
According to Airbus, so far this year it has delivered 475 aircraft, against 434 at the same point in 2025, while US rival Boeing has delivered 418 so far in 2026, compared to 385 last year.
Both companies’ delivery performance has been under the spotlight this year, with Boeing trying to shake off quality concerns from the Alaska Airlines door plug incident in 2024 and Airbus dealing with engine shortages.
However, despite these challenges the two juggernauts of the aviation world have so far been able to improve their performance from last year.
On September 7, 2026, Airbus stated that it had delivered 57 aircraft to 31 customers in August 2026, down 10 from 67 in July 2026. In August 2025, Airbus delivered 61 aircraft.
On September 8, 2026, Airbus said the company delivered 51 aircraft in August 2026, compared to 53 in July 2026. In August 2025, Boeing delivered 57 aircraft.
Among the Airbus deliveries of note was an Airbus A330neo to Starlux Airlines on August 10, 2026.
Across June and July 2026, no A330neos were delivered after Airbus staff were forced to inspect every A330neo due to concerns around the aircraft’s horizontal tail plane
According to Reuters, a person familiar with the matter said the issue arose after a tool was found in the structure of an A330neo during an inspection before delivery.
In August 2026, Boeing also saw a drop in Dreamliner deliveries. Only four were delivered to customers while in July 2026 the figure stood at 10 and in June 2026 at 13.
In terms of orders, Airbus received 67 last month including the Shenzhen Airlines order for 40 A321neos. An undisclosed customer also purchased eight A350Fs.
Boeing received orders for a total of 15 aircraft from four undisclosed customers. One of which ordered 10 787-9s.
