Malaysian rental group Ban Ngai has started receiving the first units in an order for 2,500 Noblelift scissor lifts, just days after it confirmed an order for 500 boom lifts from Sinoboom.
All of the scissors and forklifts will be equipped with Noblelift’s telematics system, enabling location mapping, geofencing, remote locking and troubleshooting, which will be fully integrated with Ban Ngai’s MCS ERP platform.
Ban Ngai has been a Noblelift customer for more than 20 years, having started with its pallet trucks, and over the years, grown to include Noblelift forklifts and now aerial work platforms.

The scissor lifts are part of a $25 million order that also includes a few forklifts and warehouse reach trucks. The scissors are all equipped with lithium-ion battery packs. It is part of a major expansion programme as well as replacements to Ban Ngai’s existing fleet.

The company has plans to expand its platform rental fleet from 3,300 to around 5,000 machines by the end of the first quarter next year and 8,500 units by 2030, with the aim of being the regional market leader as well as expanding its presence in Nigeria, Africa, to new operations in Ghana and Guinea-Bissau in the near future. It also has plans to open in Vietnam and Singapore.
Speaking of the latest deal, Noblelift said: “This strategic agreement further strengthens Ban Ngai’s position as one of the fastest growing aerial lift rental groups in Southeast Asia, while also reflecting strong market recognition of Noblelift’s competitiveness in the scissor lift segment. It further reinforces the foundation of mutual trust and product alignment between the two companies and lays a solid foundation for Ban Ngai’s global expansion strategy, which includes an existing Noblelift sole distributorship in Nigeria.

Ban Ngaio managing director, Joe-U Ong said: “Ban Ngai highly values expertise and innovation and has found in Noblelift a trusted provider of high quality products and services that deliver real added value to both our business and our customers. This partnership will support our expansion into new markets while advancing our long-term goal of becoming a globally leading company.”
Noblelift chief executive Wendy Mao added: “This order is a landmark in our 20 year relationship with Ban Ngai. It proves that Noblelift’s scissor lifts, lithium technology, and telematics are fully aligned with the region’s top rental players. We are proud to grow with Ban Ngai as they move toward becoming Southeast Asia’s number one rental powerhouse.”
