Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings has appointed Emma Woodthorpe as chief people officer to lead the company’s talent and culture agenda.
Woodthorpe started in the role on 27 April and will report to chief executive Michael Steen. She will also serve on the Atlas executive leadership team.
In her new role, she is tasked with strengthening leadership, aligning talent with business priorities and advancing the operating model to support Atlas’ continued growth.
“She will oversee talent acquisition, leadership development, organisational effectiveness, total rewards, employee engagement and relations, HR operations, and people technology,” the company said in a press release.
Woodthorpe previously served as chief people officer at Brooks Automation for almost four years and before that as senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Mercury Systems for more than five years.
She began her career in senior HR leadership roles at Xylem and DuPont.
“Emma has demonstrated success in strengthening leadership capability, increasing employee engagement, embedding clear values and behaviours, and creating more connected and accountable organisations – capabilities that directly support our ambition to live a thriving culture at Atlas,” said Steen.
Woodthorpe added: “I am excited to join the team at this pivotal moment in Atlas’ journey. The Company has built strong momentum, and we will build on this foundation to support our global workforce and position the business for long-term success.
