Following on from the completion of AW101 integration testing FlySight have announced that operational testing of its OPENSIGHT mission console is underway at the RNorN SAR base at Sola Naval Air Station. Over the next four months the mission console will be trialled in a variety of SAR mission environments including mountain and open sea rescue. In parallel, the programme is supporting development of a structured SAR data framework for Norway, aimed at enabling scalable deployment across a broader fleet and enhancing long-term mission effectiveness.
Commenting on the integration phase of the programme Mattia Carpin, Head of Engineering at FlySight said:
“I just returned after spending three days alongside the professionals who dedicate their lives to saving others in Norway, onboard one of these extraordinary helicopters. Their missions span an exceptional range of scenarios: deep forests, vertical rock faces, and open-sea rescues. Wherever there is a life to save, they go. The sky is not the limit—it is their workspace. What struck me most is their relentless commitment to excellence. Every detail matters. Every decision counts. Because in their world, compromise is not an option—it could mean missing the chance to save a life”.
