London Gatwick has announced plans to bring the management of its airport-wide advertising estate in-house from April 1, 2027.
The airport said the move will enable it to work more closely with advertisers and agency partners. It said it has expanded its portfolio of more than 250 digital screens and other advertising sites and passenger engagement opportunities throughout the airport in recent years.
According to the airport, the advertising estate gives brands access to its more than 40 million global passengers per year, including those traveling for business, leisure or to visit friends and family.
It comes as the airport received government approval to progress its Northern Runway Programme, which will enable it to handle up to 80 million passengers a year once complete.
Oliver Bedford, head of airport access, marketing and commercial products at London Gatwick, said, “London Gatwick gives brands the opportunity to reach millions of consumers in a unique environment, at a time when they’re engaged, making decisions and preparing for their journey.
“Bringing our advertising estate in-house will allow us to work more directly with brands and agencies, develop more creative opportunities and build partnerships that deliver value for everyone involved.
“We would also like to thank Global [Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP)] for their support and partnership in managing the airport’s advertising estate over many years.”
